SCLS has been working closely with the community for over 15 years. In working with our youth and families over these many years, second chance realized the need for stabilization for the whole family unit. In this realization, it was brought forth that we needed to ensure stable and affordable housing as well as a chance to realize the American dream of home ownership.

In working with financial industry professionals, second chance opted for a Housing Pilot program in 2005 that would enable individuals and families with poor or little credit a chance to rebuild credit and purchase a home. With the rolling out of this program, we decided to advocate with the potential home buyers or program enrollees, which we walked the buyer through the process of educating them on credit as well as the home buyer process.

The mission of Second Chance Life Skills is to assist those in need of Affordable, Clean, Safe and Habitable Housing. We envision a community that respects all of its Citizens and Households, regardless of their level of Ability and or Income.

Our programs are designed to aid those who are Economically, Physically, and Mentally challenged, giving them a First or Second chance to achieve Independence and Self-Sufficiency. To address the needs of some of our community’s most vulnerable people,
