CHAMPIONS ARE MADE WHEN NO ONE IS LOOKING!

To reach our full potential it’s important to work on all aspects of our lives.  Although we focus a lot on education here at Second Chance Life Skills we recognize the importance of fitness and over all physical health too!  For many students, athletics can be an answer to the financial burdens of college.  Many college athletic scholarships go unfilled due to the lack of quality athletes.  Our very own Jazmyn Shorter is a shining example of this with her NSTE (Nothing Shorter Than Elite) track team.  Here is a sample of her accomplishments.

Season 1

The first week of conditioning, we had a hand full of athletes ranging in ages come out to show their interest.

Pre-Season Conditioning

By Week 3 of conditioning we more than doubled in size, with more young athletes eager to learn more about the sport

Special Thanks to

NSTE would also like to send thanks to US Olympic and New Balance Professional Athlete, Trayvon Bromell for donating a vast variety of spikes to the team. Your Support is greatly appreciated!!

Fundraising to have fun!!

In order to compete in the  seasons various competitions we must be able to get to the events, our athletes rolled up their sleeve prior to each of the meets and scrubbed some dirty cars for a well earned donation to help fund our fun!

At Our First Meet

Our first track meet was a great experience all around. We were also very excited because it was the first time the athletes were able to participate at an event with their new team uniforms. It allowed for our athletes to get the first taste of competing with others that are not on their team as well. Every one of them are ready for the next meet on Saturday April 8, 2017.
