Second Chance Life Skills believes in giving back to the community and the time that our volunteers commit allows SCLS to do just that and gives them awesome payout incentives like participating in the Family and Friends Cruise at the end of the Football Season.

At the first of the games there was a slight learning curve to contend with getting familiar with the new point of sale systems but, once we got that under control the day was a success!

We had a great time learning to work a different station, who doesn’t love Nachos!!

On This week we enjoyed the excitement of a college football match-up of USF and Wisconsin.

There was an awesome pre-game concert that got everyone in a rocking mood that had us rocking the concession stand like never before!

Hard work pays and so does volunteering
As an added incentive for our volunteers, after participating in a qualified number of events, they would receive an invitation to join us on our yearly get-a-way. This year’s volunteers have the option to join us on a cruise to the Bahamas on the Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas!
Occasion Station
Rental Hall
SCLS offers its facilities to the community on the weekends
as a rental hall for various events and gatherings. The
facility transforms into formal settings, birthday parties, baby
showers, receptions and much more. Our facility is in need
of expansion and updating to capitalize on the much needed
event space and affordable rental opportunities. The Rental
Hall is a vital component of ours as it aids us in being self
sufficient, rental income to aid with our programs and
services and economic development and enhancements
We Have been Making Some Changes At the Occasion STation:
THE EXPANSION WILL CONSIST OF A 1,200 SQUARE FOOT HALL THAT WILL BE UTILIZED BY THE YOUTH TO CREATE INCOME FROM CREATING FUND RAISING EVENTS AND USING AS A RENTAL HALL AFTER HOURS. THE RENOVATION ALLOWS US TO RENOVATE THE KITCHEN IN ORDER TO PREPARE MEALS AND OFFER OUR CULINARY ARTS PROGRAM TO THE YOUTH, CREATE MORE OFFICES, CLASSROOMS AND DEDICATED COMPUTER AND EDUCATIONAL LAB.
AS OF FEBRUARY 2020 WE HAVE OFFICIALLY BROKEN GROUND AND STARTED CONSTRUCTION OF THE FRAME AND SHELL OF OUR EXPANSION TO OUR FACILITY.
THIS IS A GREAT START TO AN AMAZING PROJECT, SCLS IS ONLY IN THE BEGINNING STAGES OF THIS JOURNEY AND COULD USE YOUR CONTRIBUTION, CONTACT US TODAY TO SEE HOW YOU CAN HELP.
SHORTLY AFTER THE START OF OUR RESTORATION JOURNEY BACK IN FEBRUARY OF THE YEAR IN MARCH OF 2020, HERE AT SECOND CHANCE LIFE SKILLS, LIKE EVERYONE ELSE AROUND THE WORLD WERE IMPACTED BY THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC AND WERE REQUIRED TO FIND A WAY TO PROCEED WITH OUR PROJECT TO RESTORE OUR FACILITY
WE HAVE CONTINUED TO WORK TIRELESSLY MAKING PROGRESS ON COMPLETING THE OUTER SHELL OF THE BUILDING, UPON COMPLETION OF THE OUTER CONSTRUCTION FRAME WE WOULD THEN MOVE ON TO FOCUS ON THE INTERIOR RENOVATIONS.
WITH THE FRAMEWORK COMPLETED, A NEW ROOF OVER OUR HEADS AND WALLS ON ALL SIDES, OUR FACILITY HAS SURELY DOUBLED IN SIZE, BUT WE ARE STILL IN JUST THE BEGINNING STAGES OF OUR GRAND GOAL THAT YOU CAN HELP US OUT WITH, LIKE THE INTERIOR FOR EXAPLE:
